I do love all that cheesy 70s stuff. I recently tried to get all my friends to admit Bad Company was an incredible band. Just watch "Feel Like Making Love" live on Youtube! It's incredible.
You made my day AGAIN. Thank you. And good on you for trying to bring the Rock Gospel to your poor misguided pals.
Of course the rise of grunge would reframe a lot of these bands as not so uncool after all, with Cobain, Vedder, Corgan, Weezer, et al professing love for arena rock and melding it with their nerdy edginess. The “Teen Spirit” riff in fact an homage to “More Than a Feeling.”
I was going to go into that, but brevity is the soul of wit.
I was thinking about all that too! We hated the hair metal bands and listened exclusively to “classic rock” (though I listened to REM, Smiths, Yaz, Siouxsie, U2, Sinead, etc etc etc) while driving around Detroit underage drinking and getting into trouble. When I got to college I put on my fav classic rock station and my pop music/music major roommate wrinkled up her nose. AFter a few weeks she was in love….
Maxell XLII 90s — used to swear by those.
Yes indeed. If I was particularly flush, I would spring for XL II S!
Totally 💯
Another banger!
