Hi Robert, thanks for synthesizing (is that the right word?) many of my own thoughts on this matter. I would have replied earlier, but I was busy with... Statistics! As you well know - I believe I may be one of the "peers" you refer to above - I made this leap at the start of 23, also with SUNY Empire. I jumped in headfirst with four courses, which was at least one too many. I am taking three this semester and the only way I can avoid feeling overloaded is because two of them are continuations of previous courses (in Cultural Anthropology and Spanish) and the other is one that is, finally, teaching me how to use Excel, and giving me credits for doing so. That's the aforementioned Statistics, which I love, because data is important in our lives. Many of our interests here overlap - woondering wtf we are going to do with the rest of our lives given that we can't afford to retire - and figuring to get accreditation in those subjects that already interest us. For me, the study of humans, and the wonders of travel intersect in a current course entitled Travel & Tourism: A Critical Perspective, in which we had to share a travel article (and of course write about it academically) from teh last two years from selected major newspaper. You may be interested to know I chose this one: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/11/25/travel/psychedelic-retreat-ayahuasca.html
Good luck with your new studies, Robert. I’ve had similar thoughts of pivoting to something else, learning new skills. I think you’d be a great shrink.
i will send YOU a bill!! ha ha. my dreams, mostly, involve me being back in school - but, are not all that pleasant, ha ha. "did you study for this test? WHAT TEST???" analyze THAT! ha ha. i wish all the best with this new/old career, and the schooling. the cohen performance? stunning! juggling all of this, hope you can keep writing! i enjoys it. xxxcm
p.s. they said there would be no math on this test.
Thank you, Cap'n. I appreciate the vote of confidence about the writing. Will definitely keep that up. Watch this space. And like you, I too still have school nightmares. Always something I've not done that I was supposed to do. Maybe those were all messages that I should go back to school? Because I am hardheaded, it can take awhile for messages to get through.
Hallelujah. In a church. All the people singing. You did that. Lots more to do, with all my best wishes.
Thank you, my friend. Wonderful as ever to see you and your bride.
Great talk and best of “luck” in this new adventure of yours. ❤️🐧
Thank you! Your support means a lot to me.

YouTube then (coincidentally?) popped up with this, on the same subject: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a546lxxJIhE
ENjoy your studies, I had better get back to mine...
Thanks so much, Tony.

Thank you. And you, too, would make a good shrink. Your encouragement of me has been invaluable.

oh, going to school as an "adult" (the quotations are for me) would be so much betterer.
